Established in 1999, PQMS is a leading provider of training and certification services to the UK wide telecommunication, civil engineering and energy sectors. With over two decades of experience, we have a passion for improving the performance of our customers by providing training and development programmes that are tailored to meet the requirements of their business. We deliver training nationally, with centres located in Coventry, Manchester, Pulborough and Scotland.

The Role

What does it involve?

As a Trainer/Assessor, you will deliver face-face theoretical and practical training to groups of delegates working towards accredited qualifications. You will be teaching all aspects of health & safety in the overhead telecommunications network, including upskilling to deliver BT Openreach telecommunications courses.

You will be required to deliver, assess and feedback on each course to ensure that all requirements and industry standards are met.

Throughout the sessions your role will be to support and motivate our delegates in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge, expertise and skill.

You will then be required to assess each delegates competency through written and practical examination. Throughout assessment, you must identify each delegates strengths and weaknesses and after completion, give one to one feedback to support them accordingly.

Required experience & The Person

What & Who are we looking for?

  • Proven experience of working on the Openreach or any other CP network
  • Expertise required in ladder and pole climbing safety, safety working at height and overhead cabling techniques, including the installation and termination of cables from telegraph pole to customer property.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good presentation skills
  • Teaching and Assessor accreditation, such as C&G Level 3 TAQA, A1 Assessor or any equivalent Level 3 Assessing award.
  • PETLS Teaching Qualification (desirable)
  • AET Teaching Qualification (desirable)
  • Good sound knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Able to adapt delivery methods to suit learners needs
