Site Operations Manager – Live Jobs

Job Title: Site Operations Manager

Salary Range: £40,000-£50,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Field + office (South / South‑West England)

Type: Full‑time

Run £25k–£50k home extension projects end‑to‑end and be the person who makes them finish on time and to spec

About Precision Group

Precision Group designs and delivers premium glazed extensions, orangeries and conservatories for homeowners across the South and South‑West of England. We provide a fully managed, end‑to‑end service with a single point of accountability, so clients don’t have to deal with “cowboy builders” or juggle multiple trades.

Projects are typically £25k–£50k+, and live jobs are now at the point where we need a dedicated Site Operations Manager to own delivery from sales handover to final sign‑off.

Core purpose

Own all live projects from handover from sales to final sign‑off, so builds start on time, stay on track, and finish to spec without the Director being the hub for every issue.

Role outcomes
You’ll be measured on:

  • Projects starting on time with full documentation to build teams.
  • Every live job having a current programme, clear end date and next steps.
  • At least 1 proactive customer update per week during builds.
  • No job declared practically complete without a passed PC + snag checklist.
  • All builders working on a pre‑agreed builder rate card.
  • Builder invoices and customer payments cleared within 7 days of due date.
  • Fewer than 5% of jobs needing unplanned revisits after handover.
  • Fewer than 1% of jobs falling outside the 6–8 week completion window.

Requirements

  • 3+ years managing live residential building projects (extensions, refurb, fit‑out, glazing, etc).
  • Comfortable on site with builders and confident dealing with homeowners.
  • Able to read drawings and basic structural information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; does what they say they will do.
  • Competent with email, spreadsheets and simple boards/Kanban tools.
  • Clean driving licence and willingness to travel across South / South‑West England.

What you’ll do day to day

  • Set new projects up: services organised, documentation complete, start dates agreed and confirmed with builders and customers.
  • Coordinate live jobs: check in with builders, chase key deliveries, keep the Kanban / dashboard accurate.
  • Handle customer comms: progress updates, explain delays, manage expectations, run on‑site handovers.
  • Own quality and compliance: manage snags, chase building control/steel sign‑offs, confirm specs and orders, sign off practical completion.
  • Manage money on jobs: review builder invoices weekly, approve/query, and chase customer stage/final payments.
  • Run the weekly WIP meeting: walk through every job, flag risks, agree actions and owners.

30 / 60 / 90 days (summary)

  • 0–30 days: shadow, learn our projects, clean up the existing board, start sending build packs and weekly updates.
  • 31–60 days: lead WIP meetings, own 80% of builder and customer comms, enforce checklists.
  • 61–90 days: fully own live job outcomes so the Director manages by dashboard, not WhatsApp.

How to apply

  • Apply via Indeed with your CV.
  • In your application, include 3–5 bullet points on the types of residential projects you’ve managed (values, locations, your responsibilities).

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Work from home

Application question(s):

  • Do you hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle?
  • Are you willing to travel regularly across the South and South‑West of England to visit sites?
  • How many years of experience do you have managing live residential building projects (extensions, refurb, fit‑out, glazing, etc)?
  • Have you previously managed more than one live project at the same time?
  • Have you worked in a role that required you to visit sites and deal directly with homeowners about issues, delays and snagging?
  • In 3–5 bullet points, describe the most relevant residential projects you’ve managed (approx. value, type of work, your responsibilities)
