You are a flexible, committed, and hardworking individual who has a good sense of humour, is able to work as part of a team, will support the ethos of the school and who will love and care for our school as much as we do.
All about the role:

- Routine Maintenance & Specialist Scopes: Carrying out minor repairs, basic plumbing, painting, and carpentry. While you are expected to handle daily routine repairs, the school will bring in qualified external contractors for any major defects or specialized technical work.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Leading on vital compliance tasks, including weekly fire alarm tests, monthly emergency lighting checks, water temperature testing, flushing little-used outlets, and routine playground/ladder/tree safety inspections.
- Seasonal & Operations Duties: Managing winter gritting preparation, clearing gutters and drains, taking deliveries/porterage, and window cleaning during designated half-terms and summer breaks.
- Hygiene & Core Cleaning: Ordering and maintaining cleaning materials, ensuring cloakrooms are daily stocked with soap and paper products, and undertaking weekly cleaning of a hall floor, alongside emergency clean-ups as required.
- Accountability: Maintaining careful records, proactively following a structured schedule of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, and working closely with the School Business Manager.
- Amazing Pension Scheme: Full access to the highly secure Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), offering a guaranteed, defined benefit income in retirement backed by exceptionally high employer contributions.
- Work-Life Balance: A 42-week contract that allows for structured time off during school holiday periods, with just 15 days of holiday working spread across the year.
- Top-Tier Equipment: A fully kitted-out working environment with excellent tools to make your daily tasks easier.
