We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and committed Intergenerational Mission Development Lead to join our thriving ministry team at Hucknall Corps. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and grow mission that engages people of all ages, helping them explore and deepen their Christian faith in creative, relevant, and meaningful ways.
Hucknall Corps has a strong presence within the local community, with a range of well-established activities and programmes already making a positive impact. This role offers the opportunity to build on these foundations, strengthening existing work while developing new opportunities that bring people together, foster belonging, and encourage engagement with the life and mission of the Corps.
As the Intergenerational Mission Development Lead, you will play a key role in creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where people of all ages feel valued and supported. Working with children, young people, families, adults, and older people, you will develop activities and initiatives that encourage meaningful connections, nurture faith, and support participation in Corps life and the wider community.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, approachable, and enjoys building relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be comfortable engaging with children and young people through clubs and activities, while also supporting opportunities for families and older generations to connect, learn, worship, and grow together.
Conveniently located on the edge of Hucknall town centre, the Corps benefits from excellent public transport links and is within easy reach of local shops, cafés, and the high street, making it an accessible and welcoming hub for community life. With a vibrant programme of community activity already in place, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about strengthening relationships, developing ministry across the generations, and helping people encounter and grow in the Christian faith.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging intergenerational programmes, activities, and events that encourage participation from all age groups.
- Build strong and positive relationships with children, young people, families, and older members of the community
- Lead and support existing children's and youth activities, including clubs, faith-based programmes, and community events
- Work collaboratively with volunteers and Corps leaders to strengthen and expand mission opportunities
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected
- Support individuals and families with practical, emotional, and spiritual needs through relationship based ministry
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- That you are a practicing and committed Christian, actively involved in your own Church/Corps
- Experience of organising community activities for different programme participants, for example, a Parent and Toddler group, a Seniors Group
- Experience of facilitating whole church Christian worship and social action, leading prayers and providing pastoral support as appropriate
- The ability to prioritise, organise and manage your own workload to meet objectives
- Good communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships
This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army
