We're a growing team dedicated to quality, warmth, and continuous improvement, creating memorable moments for our customers in our London shop. Join us and be part of a dynamic environment where your leadership drives our success!

Job Overview

We're seeking a dynamic and commercially astute General Manager to lead our London shops. As the ultimate accountable leader, you'll oversee all aspects of operations, from people management and financial performance to product quality and customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for an ambitious individual with a passion for results, who thrives on building high-performing teams and ensuring our brand's reputation for excellence. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll deputise full responsibility for the shop's "family tree," driving growth, efficiency, and a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Operations & Business Growth: Analyse financial reports, identify trends, and implement solutions to drive profitability, sales growth, and operational efficiency. Develop local marketing initiatives and promotions to boost brand visibility and customer footfall.
  • Comprehensive People Leadership: Own the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and retention. Lead and inspire the team (Assistant Manager, Team Leaders, and Shop Assistants) to foster engagement, happiness, and high performance. Develop and maintain the shop's succession plan, delivering on People KPIs like staff turnover and internal promotions.
  • Financial Management & Reporting: Manage P&L results, sales targets, labor costs, waste, cash control, and payroll. Conduct in-depth analysis to uncover opportunities for improvement and ensure financial policies are strictly followed.
  • Brand & Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest standards in product quality, presentation, food safety, allergen compliance, and shop aesthetics. Act as the guardian of the La Maritxu brand, ensuring every customer interaction reflects our "Goxoa!" values.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Build strategic supplier relationships, optimise inventory to minimise waste, and forecast demand to align with sales trends and promotions.
  • Crisis & Incident Leadership: Lead the team through challenges, from operational disruptions to emergencies. Develop protocols, train staff, and conduct post-incident reviews to enhance resilience.
  • Daily Oversight: Ensure seamless shop operations, including opening/closing procedures, stock management, and the maintenance of a clean, inviting environment.

Key Behaviours & Requirements

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within retail, hospitality, or food service, with a track record of driving commercial success and team development.
  • Strong leadership skills: Role model excellence, remain upbeat and positive, demonstrate an amazing work ethic, and lead with confidence under pressure.
  • Commercially astute with financial acumen, attention to detail, and organisational prowess.
  • Excellent communicator, curious learner, and passionate about achieving results.
  • Alignment with our "Goxoa!" ethos: Genuine passion for craft, commitment to outstanding service, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on-site 5 days a week in our London shop.
  • Knowledge of food safety, health & safety regulations, and inventory management is essential.

Why Join Us?

  • Be the driving force behind a beloved brand's growth in London's competitive market.
  • Opportunities for professional development in a supportive, collaborative team.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and mutual support, where your success is tied to the team's.

If you're a visionary leader with an unwavering drive for excellence, apply now to lead La Maritxu to new heights! We look forward to welcoming you to our team.
