Cook – The Malthouse Café & Restaurant

Location: Swansea
Reports to: Head of Events & Venue Operations
Hours: Flexible, including evenings and weekends as required (split shifts)

Overview

The Malthouse Café & Restaurant is known for delivering high‑quality, freshly prepared food with excellent service. We are looking for a skilled and reliable Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong kitchen experience, a passion for producing great food, and the professionalism to maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation.

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience working as a Cook, Chef, or Kitchen Assistant in a café, restaurant, or catering environment
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene, cross‑contamination prevention, and safe food handling
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to adapt to changing menus, service styles, and operational needs

Skills & Qualifications (Proof required)

  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene for Catering (minimum requirement)
  • Allergen Awareness Training (in line with Natasha’s Law)
  • Food Safety Level 3 (preferred)
  • COSHH Awareness
  • Health & Safety Awareness
  • Basic First Aid (desirable)
