Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Kitchen Porter.

As a vital member of our Garden Room Cafe team, the post holder will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency within our kitchen environment.

Please note that this role involves manual tasks, including standing, lifting, and carrying.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the dishwashing equipment.
  • Promptly delivering clean equipment and crockery to the Kitchen and Front of House teams.
  • Thoroughly cleaning and sanitising waste and recycling bins.
  • Aiding with deep cleaning tasks as necessary.
  • Upholding cleanliness and organisation of indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Assisting with basic food preparation.

Hours of Work

  • Saturday 8am - 5pm
  • Sunday 9.30am - 5pm
  • Monday 10am - 5pm
  • Tuesday 10am - 5pm
  • Wednesday 10am - 5pm
  • All shifts include a 30-minute unpaid break for lunch.

Pay rates:

Our pay rates vary depending on age:

  • Ages 16–17: £8.18 per hour
  • Ages 18–20: £10.99 per hour
  • Ages 21 and over: £12.84 per hour

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Capability to withstand long hours of standing, lifting heavy objects (within HSE guidelines), and performing repetitive tasks.
