Job Overview
Looking for someone 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook / Cafe Assistant to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving food in a friendly café environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy setting. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive team while contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to menu specifications and health standards
  • Assist with meal preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet company standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
  • Serve customers efficiently, taking orders and providing friendly assistance
  • Follow food safety procedures at all times to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, utensils, and disposables
  • Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the café
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as required

Experience

  • Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a café, restaurant, or similar environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
  • Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy is preferred
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and meal assembly processes will be beneficial
