Full job description

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Cafe Cook for 4 days per week to join our busy and friendly café team.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for preparing fresh, homemade food daily, serving customers, and helping to maintain the high standards our customers have come to expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking fresh food from scratch each day
  • Baking homemade scones and preparing quiches daily
  • Serving customers and providing excellent customer service
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
  • Assisting with stock control and food ordering as required
  • Supporting the Head Chef with catering for events and special functions
  • Working efficiently during busy service periods

About You

  • Previous experience working as a cook in a café, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment is essential
  • Confident preparing food from scratch
  • Experience baking and producing homemade products is desirable
  • Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
  • Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety requirements

Working Hours

  • Regular weekend working
  • Daytime shifts
  • Occasional evening work (approximately once per month) to support events and functions
