Full job description

Overview

As a Carpenter joiner handyman, you’ll carry out practical construction, repair and finishing work across a range of tasks. You’ll use sound judgement to complete work carefully, keep work areas organised and support colleagues with reliable, well-finished results.

Duties

  • Fabricate, assemble and repair timber components using hand tools and power tools, applying carpentry and joinery skills.
  • Carry out general building and maintenance tasks, which may include roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.
  • Move materials and equipment safely, including heavy lifting, and keep tools and work areas orderly.
  • Check completed work, identify issues and communicate progress or further work needed to colleagues.
  • Your impact: Careful repairs and clear updates help colleagues keep buildings functional and safe for the people who use them.

Requirements

Required: Practical ability with hand tools and power tools, plus the care and coordination to fabricate, assemble, repair and finish work safely. Preferred: Related experience or skills in carpentry, joinery, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry or electrical work, and confidence with heavy lifting.

Pay: £26.00-£30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 3.0 per week
