Working as part of a wide team, you will be responsible for the planning, facilitation and delivery of our youth work and schools programmes in Antrim, including regular day and evening work.

Working as part of a wide team, you will be responsible for the planning, facilitation and delivery of our youth work and schools programmes in Antrim, including regular day and evening work. The postholder will have a genuine care for young people, a passion for helping them fulfil their potential, and proven experience as an intentional, effective youth worker. You should understand the issues young males face and how best to support them, and ideally have local knowledge or experience of the Antrim area.

This work is embedded in the values and ethos of a Christian organisation; therefore, the postholder will be expected to be a committed Christian and to have a relationship with a church.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

You'll need to:

  • Recruit and engage young people to take an active part in programme activities, including organising outreach on the street and in local schools.
  • Build trusting, respectful relationships with young people, setting clear boundaries and challenging inappropriate behaviour.
  • Deliver and contribute to our youth and schools programme, including learning sessions, arts‑based work, community service, residential and outdoor‑education experiences, and sports. There will also be a focus on male‑focused projects for this post.
  • Good capability in creating short-form media to assist in showcasing Dreamscheme's work.
  • Engage with the local community by building strong links with stakeholders such as parents, social care, police, schools, and the local council.
  • Build strong, supportive team relationships with staff and volunteers.
  • Undertake organisational tasks, including evaluation, record‑keeping, writing area updates, and supporting local fundraising initiative

KEY INFORMATION

  • Hours: 25 hours per week
  • Contract: Permanent, subject to funding
  • Salary: £24,785 - £25,350 pro rata(depending on experience)
  • Location: Antrim (x2 Hubs, Antrim Town Centre, Ballycraigy tbc*)
  • Reporting: Reporting to Senior Youth Coordinator

*Important to note that we are actively seeking to establish the second Hub and still could be in several locations within Antrim.

Pay: £24,785.00-£25,350.00 per year
