Who Are GuyKat?
GuyKat is a multi-award-winning eLearning agency based in Birmingham (UK). We also have a sister company in the US, based in Tampa, Florida. We work with some of the largest brands on the planet. At our heart, we are a people-orientated professional services company. We help clients use technology to share knowledge.
Role Description
We are looking for a UX/UI Developer with strong front-end development skills and a good eye for design to join our awesome Design and Development team. This role involves enhancing the UX/UI of our clients' Learning Management Systems through advanced HTML and CSS implementation and collaboration with designers and clients. The projects will almost exclusively be working on the Docebo platform. However, knowledge of the Docebo platform is not expected. We can teach those bits.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in advanced HTML and CSS
- Experience in responsive and accessible design principles
- Strong understanding of user experience and interface design fundamentals and the ability to evaluate designs for feasibility in code
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Suite) to translate designs into code effectively
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting front-end issues across various browsers and devices
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and customer service skills in English
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Enthusiastic, driven, and self-motivated
- Passion for learning new skills and technologies
Desirable (but not essential):
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Understanding of Docebo
- Understanding of Learning Management System administration
- Background working as part of a cross-functional team with designers and developers
- Background working within a professional services/technology consulting environment is preferred
What would be the day to day duties?
- Understand and analyse client needs within the Docebo platform, identifying goals, pain points, and solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to gather, refine, and agree on detailed requirements.
- Implement approved designs using advanced HTML and CSS, developing creative solutions for complex requirements.
- Optimise and troubleshoot front-end code for cross-browser compatibility and performance.
- Design or adjust UX/UI elements in Figma to align with client requirements and technical feasibility.
- Conduct QA on your work and peer review team members’ designs and implementations.
- Finalise and submit designs for client review, guiding them through the go-live process.
- Document processes and train clients on maintaining the implemented solutions.
- Build and maintain client relationships, ensuring successful project outcomes and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the team, sharing updates, insights, and addressing challenges together.
- Take ownership of project delivery, ensuring timelines are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Upskill in your knowledge of the Docebo platform.
What We Offer
If this sounds like you, here’s what you can expect from us:
The role is officially based full time at GuyKat offices in Birmingham. In practice, most of our team currently enjoy flexible hybrid working, with an expectation that people attend the office at least 2 days per week for the first 2 years of employment. You may also be required to attend the office more often to support the business when meetings, workshops, and other such activities are required.
Clear, structured career progression. We don’t hire to fill a role, we hire for the long term. From day one, we’ll be working with you to develop your skills, expand your responsibilities, and help you grow into something bigger than the role you started in.
Salary range: £28,000 – £35,000 per year
PLEASE INCLUDE A COVER LETTER WITH YOUR APPLICATION!
You must submit a CV and a cover letter. The cover letter is far more important than the CV. Applications without a cover letter will be automatically rejected.
By all means use AI to help spell check or review your cover letter - but please write the substantive cover letter yourself, using your own voice. If you bang this ad through AI and say 'write me a cover letter' you'll produce something the same as 90% of the others we get. If somehow you made the interview, you'd be caught out there. Be you.
Your cover letter should explain what attracted you to the role and why GuyKat appeals to you. If your personality comes through, even better! We’re looking for natural communicators.
