In return we are looking for a Production Supervisor that wants to make tomorrow better than today, work smart as well as hard, and be effective efficient and right first time.

All our orders and products are bespoke and therefore it’s critical that the person applying for this role is adaptable under pressure and is able to plan, make decisions and adapt to constant change whilst keeping the team driven and motivated.

The Production Supervisor role is key to supporting the Production Management team to ensure we have the necessary communication, drive, determination, and leadership within the production department to achieve our vision goals.

Requirements:

· 2 years of supervisory experience in fast paced manufacturing operations

· Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills

· Excellent attention to detail and data analysis skills

· Excellent emotional intelligence and performance management skills

· IT skills (Excel, word, outlook etc)

· Lean Manufacturing experience

Key areas of the role:

People

· Informing, empowering, and engaging with the team to achieve our vision

· Developing the team leaders and operatives in line with our Starglaze Family Principles, training and development framework and the team leader roadmaps

· Ensuring that we are working in line with our vision goal of attaining and maintaining gold Investors in People standard

· Performance management of the team to ensure we maximise efficiencies and effectiveness, monitoring attendance/attitudes to meet our internal targets for outputs and quality

· Ensure that all operatives are adequately trained for their respective roles, in terms of their skills, health and safety and quality requirements

· Playing a lead role in the quarterly employee scorecard evaluations

· Manage the team leaders bonus scheme to ensure actions/attitudes are in line with our agreed plans, e.g. maintaining the daily SIC meetings, 8-D improvement meetings, PSI’s, weekly SQCC meetings

· Develop strong working relationship with the production management team

Production planning

· Organise, direct, and control the resources within your area of responsibility, to achieve the output indicated in the daily/weekly production demand plan in the most efficient and effective manner

· Utilise the existing bar-coding technology to improve efficiencies within the department, altering targets to suit changes in efficiencies (technology, machine, or manpower)

· Monitor the production plan, ensuring that daily capacity is fully utilised and where necessary liaise with internal departments to smooth production demands

· Lead and run the SIC meetings to track daily performance, investigate and communicate any issues

· Review operator skill matrix to ensure that the factory has suitable coverage for each process and improve operator flexibility by creating a training plan

Quality

· Work with the team to achieve our COTIF and CONC (Cost of non-conformance targets)

· Improve quality standards and ensure any quality issues are communicated to management/customers as soon as they arise along with plans to make the necessary improvements

· Work with the management team to investigate complaints and implement immediate containment and long-term rectification actions

· Investigate NCRs (non-conformance report) and RCA (root cause analysis), implement immediate containment and long-term rectification actions

· Work with the management team to track, communicate and rectify any internal remakes to ensure that material waste is kept to a minimum

· Work with the management team to track, communicate and rectify any machine and internal supply issues, escalate to Production Manager where required

· Ensure that the disciplinary procedures are followed in respect of any operatives failing to follow company rules and failing to meet the quality standard

Health & Safety

· Be fully aware of the health and safety requirements and ensure that all regulations are followed; this includes enforcement of the correct use of PPE, monitoring equipment and notifying relevant personnel of any defective equipment.

· Reporting and investigating near misses and unsafe acts to identify the root cause(s) and implement immediate containment and long-term rectification actions

· Conduct accident investigation meetings to identify the root cause(s) of the accident and implement immediate containment and long-term rectification actions

· Ensure that all factory operatives have read and signed the relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Risk Assessments (RA) prior to commencing any new work

· Maintain the highest standard of housekeeping and hygiene on site by conducting area reviews and 5S improvement activities

Any other duties as required that the role of a Production Supervisor would need to fulfil
