About the Service

The Adult Learning and Skills Service is dedicated to helping adults across North Yorkshire gain the skills, confidence and qualifications they need to improve their lives. We work with individuals from all backgrounds, providing accessible learning opportunities, personalised support and pathways into further education, training and employment. Through our inclusive and community-focused approach, we empower learners to reach their potential, achieve their goals and make a positive difference to their future.

About the Role

Working across a range of funded programmes, including Adult Skills Fund and Combined Authority initiatives, you will develop and manage projects that increase participation in adult learning, employability and skills provision. You will work closely with community organisations, employers, voluntary sector partners and training providers to identify local needs, create opportunities and support adults facing barriers to learning and employment.

This is a varied role combining project management, partnership development, learner engagement and service improvement. You will manage performance against funding targets and budgets, coordinate delivery activity, supervise frontline staff and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that improve outcomes for individuals and communities.

  • Manage project performance, budgets, outputs and KPI targets.
  • Support learners to overcome barriers and progress into learning, employment or wider community participation.
  • Support frontline delivery staff.
  • Use labour market intelligence, community insight and performance data to inform planning and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all activities comply with funding requirements, safeguarding procedures and council policies.
