Job overview

The post holder will provide high-quality, professional business coordination and analytical support to the Deputy Director of Finance, contributing to the effective running of the Operational Finance function. The role is pivotal in supporting the coordination of Finance team activities, ensuring the smooth delivery of core business objectives.

The post holder will undertake detailed analysis and interpretation of complex financial and non-financial information, supporting transaction processing, management accounting, and financial accounting functions. They will play a key role in producing accurate, timely reports and insights to inform decision-making across the organisation.

With strong organisational and project management skills, the post holder will support and lead defined areas of financial, analytical, and administrative work. They will provide structure and coordination across the team, ensuring priorities are effectively managed and deadlines met.

The role requires the ability to work independently, managing competing demands while maintaining high professional standards. The post holder will contribute to a positive and professional image of the Finance function, building effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

To deliver comprehensive business coordination, analytical, and administrative support to the Finance function, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of services.

  • Providing high-level coordination and administrative support to the Deputy Director of Finance.

  • Undertaking detailed analysis and interpretation of complex financial and non-financial data, producing accurate and timely reports to support decision-making.

  • Supporting and contributing to management accounting, financial accounting, and transaction processing activities as required.

  • Planning, coordinating, and supporting projects, including developing project plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring delivery against agreed timelines.

  • Coordinating the production and quality assurance of reports for internal and external stakeholders, including Board-level documentation.

  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Supporting the management of the Finance team’s workload, helping to prioritise tasks and ensure key deadlines and objectives are met.
