Full job description
We are currently reviewing the salary banding for this role to ensure it remains aligned with the market and the requirements of the position. An additional national pay award is also pending.
We are seeking three highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Management Teams at Arnold and Redhill Leisure Centres. You will be part of the management rota, working a range of shifts (37 hours per week for each post) and supporting the effective organisation and coordination of the Centre’s day-to-day operations. You will ensure the Centre operates smoothly, in full compliance with health and safety requirements, and help deliver excellent customer experience.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will actively promote and encourage wider use of the Centre and its facilities to increase participation and income. You will also champion our popular DNA Fitness Membership and successful Swim School, promoting health and wellbeing for local residents and the wider community.
Previous experience in leisure facility operations, together with practical building management experience, is essential. To be considered, you must hold a current RLSS Pool Lifeguard qualification or have the ability and commitment to obtain this qualification on appointment (for Arnold Leisure Centre only) and have strong knowledge and experience of supervising and managing within a swimming pool environment.
You will also have a high level of numeracy and literacy, with 5 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A*–C) or equivalent, and meet all essential criteria set out in the Job Specification.
In return, we offer excellent working conditions, including generous annual leave, a comprehensive pension scheme, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme providing confidential support on a range of issues, including financial and legal matters. You will also benefit from discounts at numerous retail outlets, as well as significantly reduced gym membership at Gedling’s Leisure Centres.
For an informal discussion or to find out more about the role, please contact Sam Joyce at Sam.Joyce@gedling.gov.uk.
Please note: you must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application; we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role
The closing date for completed applications via our website is Sunday 30th August 2026 at midnight.
