Full job description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Housing Data and Governance Officer to join our Housing and Resettlement Team.

About the role:

This role supports the delivery of high-quality, timely and fair complaint responses. You will play a key part in how we manage and learn from complaints across our housing services, working closely with the Housing Options team. You will support the smooth handling of cases from initial recording through to response and learning.

You will also provide comprehensive support in managing Freedom of Information (FOI) and Subject Access Requests (SARs) ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines.

You will:

  • Support the development and day-to-day operation of systems and processes for handling complaints and enquiries.
  • Collate and analyse casework information to prepare suitable written responses often at pace and to tight deadlines.
  • Assist with Housing Ombudsman enquiries, preparing clear and accurate information from multiple sources.
  • Act as the central point of contact for information rights requests, ensuring that the Council meets its legal duties.

About you:

  • Highly organised – skilled at handling multiple cases, tracking deadlines and keeping systems up to date.
  • A great communicator – confident in writing clear written responses and presenting information logically.
  • Analytical – comfortable reviewing evidence, identifying gaps, and pulling together accurate replies .
  • Proactive and curious – keen to spot themes, contribute to service learning, and help improve processes.
  • Impartial – able to make decisions in a fair and consistent approach.
  • Understanding and supportive – be able to correspond effectively with vulnerable client groups.
