Spanish Speaking Online Counsellor (Remote – UK Based)

Role Brief:

This is a self-employed, freelance role – perfect for counsellors looking to grow their caseload, earn extra income, or make a real difference in student mental health.

We’re expanding in the UK and looking for experienced counsellors, psychotherapists, or psychologists to join our team. As a Uwill Counsellor, you’ll deliver remote counselling to university and college students and staff through a secure digital platform, with full flexibility over your schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an on-going caseload of clients from initial session to graduation from care.
  • Conduct video, telephone, or chat sessions with clients.
  • Utilise evidence-based practices and SMART goals tailored to student needs.
  • Practise culturally competent care to meet the needs of a diverse client base including but not limited to: first-time therapy seekers, BME clients, LGBTQ+ clients, first-generation students, veterans, and athletes.
  • Adhere to the risk assessment and management process of Uwill and governing body, including assessing for risk during the initial session with a client and as needed thereafter.
  • Complete session notes within time frame expectations.
  • Respond to client messages in a timely manner.

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Counselling, Psychotherapy or relevant field that qualifies for accredited membership.
  • Full accredited membership of a recognised professional body or organisation which is governed by a recognised code of ethics and disciplinary process (i.e., BACP (Accred), BABCP, UKCP, NCPS, IACP, ICP, COSCA or equivalent.).
  • 2 years of experience providing counselling to a variety of clients reflecting a wide range of clinical presentations.
  • Ability to provide sessions in Spanish.
  • Experience screening clients, identifying and managing any risk.
  • Experience working with clients using short term models of therapeutic intervention.
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • A private, secure location to conduct sessions (GDPR compliant).
  • Laptop/computer with webcam, microphone, and stable internet to conduct sessions.

Preferred Experience

  • Working with university/college students or young adults
  • Experience providing counselling online via phone and video.
  • Experience delivering short-term, goal-focused therapy
