A well-established specialist within the construction sector is looking for an experienced Technical Sales Advisor with a background in structural waterproofing to join its Tonbridge team.

The business works with contractors, engineers and specifiers across commercial, civil engineering and residential projects, supplying specialist systems and providing technical support throughout the sales process.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands waterproofing products and enjoys dealing directly with customers. You'll be handling incoming technical enquiries, supporting customers at the trade counter, preparing quotations and helping customers select the right system for their requirements.

The Role

You'll provide first-line technical and sales support to customers by phone and face-to-face, using your product knowledge to understand what they're trying to achieve and recommend an appropriate solution.

You'll deal with enquiries across a range of specialist products, including:

• Structural waterproofing membranes
• Cavity drain membrane systems
• Liquid-applied waterproofing and deck waterproofing
• Damp proofing and ground gas protection
• Concrete repair and injection systems
• Clean and grey water pumping solutions

Alongside the technical side of the role, you'll also be expected to identify sales opportunities, develop relationships with customers and work with suppliers on pricing and technical queries.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical sales advice by telephone and at the trade counter.
• Advise contractors, engineers and other customers on structural waterproofing systems and associated products.
• Understand project requirements and recommend practical, compliant solutions.
• Prepare quotations and follow up sales opportunities.
• Liaise with suppliers on technical information, availability and pricing.
• Identify and develop leads within the specialist contractor network.
• Build strong working relationships with contractors, engineers and specifiers.
• Manage daily trade counter enquiries and sales.
• Keep customer and sales information up to date across CRM and ERP systems.

About You

The key requirement is genuine knowledge of structural waterproofing. You'll need to be comfortable discussing products and applications with customers and providing technical advice rather than simply taking orders.

You'll ideally have:

• At least five years' experience within the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of structural waterproofing systems and associated construction products.
• Experience within technical sales, trade counter operations or a similar customer-facing construction environment.
• Experience providing technical advice both over the phone and face-to-face.
• Good commercial awareness and the ability to spot opportunities to increase sales.
• Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
• Experience using CRM and ERP systems - NetSuite would be advantageous.
• CSSW accreditation would be desirable, but is not essential.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.
• The ability to commute to Tonbridge on a daily basis.

The business operates between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. You'll need to be flexible to share the 7am opening shift with other members of the team.
