We are seeking a talented Associate Director - Project Controls to support the delivery of a major Defence Programme in Reading. You will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining project controls processes across a complex, high‑profile programme, working within an Integrated client Team that operates under a strong “One Team” culture.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Project Controls Lead and Project Managers in the introduction and implementation of project controls processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Assisting in leading, coaching, and supporting members of the Project Controls team.
  • Ensuring visibility, accuracy, and transparency of the project critical path.
  • Interfacing with engineering, procurement, commercial, and wider project teams to coordinate controls activities across your allocated scope.
  • Acting as the focal point for schedule control, progress definition, and resource allocation recommendations.
  • Delivering end‑to‑end project controls management from design through to commissioning.
  • Supporting schedule management, performance reporting, cost analysis, and earned value management.
  • Aligning with partner organisations to ensure consistency across schedules, reporting, and assurance.

You’ll need to have:

  • Strong project controls expertise with specialist experience in at least one area: cost control, scheduling, risk management or PMO support.
  • Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working within complex delivery environments with multiple contractors and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to use project controls software and systems (e.g., P6, SAP, PRISM, RiskHive, AM, Power BI).
  • Nuclear sector experience (desirable, but not essential).
  • Proven experience in project controls or project management within a construction or consultancy environment.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
  • Eligibility to obtain SC clearance, including meeting UK residency requirements.
