We are looking for full time experienced dog handlers to join our busy team here at the Pawfect Retreat.

The successful candidate will have a Canine Industry background, have previously worked in a similar facility and will also need dog training/behaviour experience.

The position, is a 30 hour contract, working 10 hour shifts, 8am - 6pm, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. Bank holidays and Christmas and New year periods are included in the contract.

The role is to care for the dogs that visit our Dog Hotel, this includes giving them scheduled exercise in our designated areas, including enrichment, basic training, and fun engagement activities. The successful candidate will need to assess dogs and their behaviour; when necessary and socialise dogs in a safe environment when possible.

It is the duty of all handlers to monitor dogs rooms and make sure they are kept clean and tidy at all times.

All handlers will be required to complete feed and medication documentation, so organisation skills are a must for this role.

Handlers will be asked to complete health and weight checks regularly (training will be given).

This role is very labour intensive and the successful candidate will be active and busy all day. The role will require handlers to be mostly working outside, so this will mean at times handlers will get cold and wet.

This role it a very rewarding and satisfying job for the right person, it has scope to develop new skills and take someone further who wishes to pursue a career in the Canine Industry.

The successful candidate must be able to work both in a team environment and on their own, using their own initiative.

They must also be flexible and willing to help in other departments of the business such as housekeeping, reception and be willing to step in and cover night shifts, for holidays and sickness.

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
