Full job description
Contract: Split shifts (AM and PM), part time, term time.
Location: You will start and finish your day from your home, driving assigned routes across Herefordshire, which may include Hereford, Leominster, Bromyard, and Ross-on-Wye.
About the Role
We are looking for reliable and caring drivers to join our team, providing safe and comfortable transport for children and adults, some with complex needs, to school, college or day care.
This is a split-shift role (AM and PM), ideal for those looking for part-time work during term time.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport SEN or vulnerable children to and from schools, colleges, or day centres.
- Operate in a professional, adaptable, and safety-conscious manner to support smooth service delivery.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with passengers, their families/carers, and staff at the destinations.
- Maintain the vehicle in a roadworthy, clean, and presentable condition at all times
- Ensure availability for both morning and afternoon shifts on all school days.
Requirements
- Valid full UK driving licence
- Minimum one year of driving experience
- Company vehicle provided
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and passenger welfare
- DBS check required before starting
- Ability to drive different types of vehicles
- Fit enough to pass a Group 2 medical (taxi licensing standard)

Disclosure Barring Service Checks
Due to the nature of the work a criminal record check via the DBS disclosure service will also be required.
As part of your assessment, you will be required to demonstrate knowledge, experience and skills in assisting and safeguarding passengers as well as emergency first aid at work
This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed. This will include details of cautions, reprimands, or final warnings, as well as convictions. Green Destinations has a commitment to safeguarding service users in our care.
The AM time from your home to the first passenger pick-up point and from school back to home; the PM time from home to school and from the last passenger drop-off to your home will not be considered as “time work” under regulation 30 of the National Minimum Wage Regulations 2025.
