BJ Watkins Electrical Ltd is an established electrical contracting business specialising in high-end domestic and commercial electrical installations across Herefordshire and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for an experienced, qualified electrician who is confident working independently, managing their own workload and delivering electrical work to a high standard.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their work, dealing directly with customers and being trusted to get the job done properly.

We offer a permanent position, predominantly local work, a company van, enhanced annual leave and opportunities for professional development.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out electrical work on a range of high-end domestic and commercial projects, both independently and as part of a team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out electrical installations, maintenance and remedial works
  • Attending and managing allocated jobs independently
  • Planning and organising your work efficiently
  • Liaising professionally with customers, contractors and other trades
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues on site
  • Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Communicating job progress and any variations or additional works to management
  • Completing relevant job documentation and records
  • Undertaking inspection and testing where appropriately qualified and competent

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' practical experience within the electrical industry
  • Proven experience working independently following qualification
  • Ability to organise and complete allocated work without constant supervision
  • Good knowledge of BS 7671 and current electrical installation practices
  • Experience in domestic and/or commercial electrical installations
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Reliable, organised and committed to quality workmanship

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent
  • 18th Edition qualification
  • Experience working on high-end domestic projects
  • Experience coordinating work with other trades

Inspection & Testing qualifications are not essential. We are happy to support the right candidate through additional company-funded training.
