Be part of our digital transformation

East Devon’s Housing Service has made significant progress in recent years, improving services, strengthening performance and embracing new ways of working to better support our residents and communities. As we continue our journey, we're investing in technology, innovation and digital solutions that will help us deliver even more effective and customer-focused services.

This is an exciting time to join the team. As we modernise our systems and processes, you'll play a key role in helping shape the future of housing services across East Devon, supporting the development of our housing management systems and driving improvements that benefit both staff and residents.

Team East Devon – more than just a job

At East Devon District Council, we believe great services are delivered by great people. Our Housing Service brings together talented professionals with a wide range of skills and experience, all working towards a shared ambition of providing excellent homes and services for our communities.

The Housing Systems team sits at the heart of service delivery, ensuring that the technology, data and digital tools used across Housing are reliable, efficient and fit for the future. From supporting day-to-day system administration to helping deliver new functionality and digital improvements, the team plays a vital role in enabling colleagues to provide the best possible service to residents.

You'll be involved in a wide range of activities including systems projects, reporting and data analysis user acceptance testing, user support and business process improvements. You'll also contribute to the transition towards web-based services and emerging technologies, helping identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance customer experience.

Working collaboratively with Housing colleagues, ICT teams and software suppliers, you'll help ensure our systems continue to evolve to meet changing business needs, legislation and customer expectations.

About you

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, systems and service improvement, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage a range of tasks.

You will have:

  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • An interest in improving business processes and using technology to deliver better outcomes
  • Strong IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications especially MS Excel
  • The ability to analyse information, identify solutions and solve technical problems
  • Experience of supporting software systems
  • A commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work and maintaining data integrity
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Experience of management information system administration, advanced MSExcel or project co-ordination will be advantageous in this role.

About us

Our recent Local Government Association Peer Challenge highlighted that ‘EDDC is a great place to work, with engaged staff and members’ and that’s certainly true! You will be part of an organisation that works together with local people to create great value services and an outstanding community, economy and environment in which people want to live, work, visit and enjoy now, and for future generations. And with our wide range of health and wellbeing benefits, our highly flexible and collaborative hybrid Worksmart working arrangements as well as our commitment to continuous learning and development, you can be confident of joining a dedicated community of colleagues who are Happy, Healthy and Here.
