Dove House Hospice is looking for a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager to lead our approach to health, safety and environmental practice across the organisation.

This is a key role where you’ll help ensure our patients, families, staff and volunteers are supported by a safe, compliant and well-managed environment — so we can continue delivering outstanding palliative care.

About the role
You’ll be our organisation wide expert, providing practical, proportionate advice to colleagues at all levels. Working across clinical services, retail and fundraising, you’ll lead on developing and embedding effective systems that keep people safe and ensure we meet our legal responsibilities.

What you’ll be doing
. Leading and improving health, safety and environmental management systems
. Keeping policies up to date and aligned with legislation and best practice
. Supporting managers to deliver robust risk assessments and controls
. Embedding safe systems of work across diverse teams
. Overseeing incident reporting, investigation and RIDDOR compliance
. Carrying out audits, inspections and fire safety checks
. Working with regulators and external partners where required

About you
You’ll be a confident and pragmatic health and safety professional, able to build strong relationships and positively influence others.

You’ll bring:
. A recognised qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
. Experience in a health and safety advisory or management role
. Strong knowledge of relevant UK legislation
. Experience of risk assessments, investigations and compliance
. The confidence to support, challenge and influence at all levels
