Saeker Limited - Fire Safety Consultant

This role will be home-based with frequent (weekly) travel throughout the UK including overnight stays. Please apply for the role if you have the relevant experience and are willing and happy to work away from home (all over the UK) on a frequent basis.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified and experienced professional to join our fire safety team.

Established in 2007, Saeker is a leading consultancy and compliance software provider supporting a wide range of businesses throughout the UK including hotels, holiday parks, country estates with heritage buildings, universities and residential care establishments.

Led by our experienced Fire Safety Manager, the fire safety team manages all aspects of fire safety for the business. This will be a varied role, often working with well-known brands, where you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying our fire risk assessments to an exceptionally high standard across a range of premises, including some with historic and fire engineered characteristics
  • Supporting with quality assurance reviews of fire risk assessments carried out by the fire team
  • Undertaking bespoke fire consultancy projects for clients
  • Providing high quality, pragmatic advice to clients
  • Supporting the wider Saeker business with audit training and commercial activities
  • Managing the delivery of fire safety training
  • Updating and maintaining client fire policies

What we’re looking for

We pride ourselves on our expertise and commitment to client support. To be successful you will need to be confident working in a consultancy environment, offering the best advice with the ability to deliver high standards in all that you do. Your communication and relationship building skills will be second to none and you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Extensive experience (minimum of 3 years) working with sleeping risk and fire engineered buildings, supported by relevant qualifications and on-going CPD
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, with registration on a Fire Risk Assessment Register with IFSM and/or IFE
  • Ability to provide risk-based fire risk assessments using appropriate risk-based guidance to fulfil the functional requirement of law
  • The ability and self-motivation to work independently to meet deadlines and deliver expected standards
  • Analytical ability with strong report writing skills and the ability to prioritise and schedule objectives to optimise time, cost and quality
  • A problem-solving mindset to enable you to work with clients to find solutions and deliver result
  • The ability to design and deliver fire safety training
  • A full driving licence: the nature of the role means that car travel will be necessary
