About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Fire Compartmentation Surveyor to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality fire compartmentation surveys across residential, commercial, healthcare, education and public sector properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong understanding of passive fire protection and fire safety regulations who is looking to develop their career within a growing and forward-thinking business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed fire compartmentation surveys in accordance with current fire safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Identify and record breaches in fire compartmentation, including walls, floors, ceilings, risers, service penetrations, and fire-stopping systems.
  • Produce accurate survey reports, photographs, marked-up drawings, and remedial schedules.
  • Assess existing passive fire protection measures and provide recommendations for remedial works.
  • Liaise with clients, residents, site teams, and contractors professionally at all times.
  • Ensure all surveys are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist with project planning and provide technical support where required.
  • Support all areas of the business when required, demonstrating flexibility and a collaborative approach to assist with operational, technical, and project-related activities beyond core surveying duties.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience undertaking fire compartmentation surveys.
  • Strong understanding of passive fire protection systems and fire stopping products.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety)
  • Order, Approved Document B, BS 9999, and relevant passive fire protection standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and report-writing skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Competent in using tablets and survey software.
  • Right to Work (UK).

Desirable Qualifications

  • FDIS Fire Door Inspection Diploma.
  • Passive Fire Protection qualifications.
  • FIRAS, IFC, or equivalent industry accreditation experience.
  • Experience within social housing and occupied residential buildings.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Asbestos Awareness Certification.
