About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Fire Stopping / Remedial Joiner to join our growing team. This hybrid role combines the installation and maintenance of passive fire protection systems with high-quality remedial joinery work across commercial, residential, healthcare, education and public sector projects.

The successful candidate will have experience in both fire stopping and joinery, with a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain passive fire protection systems, including:
  • Fire batt and mastic
  • Fire collars and wraps
  • Fire-rated sealants
  • Linear gap seals
  • Service penetration sealing
  • Carry out remedial joinery works, including:
  • Fire door repairs and upgrades
  • Door frame repairs
  • General carpentry and finishing works
  • Replacement of damaged timber components
  • Complete work in accordance with current fire safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Accurately complete site documentation, reports and photographic records
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and colleagues

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in carpentry and joinery``
  • Proven experience in fire stopping and remedial joinery
  • Good knowledge of passive fire protection systems
  • Competent in fire door repairs and maintenance
  • Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points)
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable Qualifications

  • FIRAS, BM TRADA, or equivalent passive fire protection training.
  • First Aid at Work
