SUMMARY:

As Front of House (FOH) Supervisor you will be responsible for playing a key role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting the team. You will assist in maintaining high food and beverage standards, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests amongst managing staff when the manager is absent.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

1. Staff Supervision & Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house and bar staff.
  • Assist in training, and performance management.
  • Ensure staff follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Conduct shift briefings and allocate duties effectively.

2. Customer Service & Guest Experience:

Provide excellent customer service and resolve complaints professionally.

  • Ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Monitor customer feedback and suggest improvements.
  • Assist with reservations, special events, and private bookings.

3. Operations & Compliance:

  • Oversee the daily running of the pub and restaurant, ensuring smooth service.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, food safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness, stock levels, and equipment in bar and dining areas.
  • Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.

4. Financial Responsibilities:

  • Handle cash, process payments, and ensure tills are balanced.
  • Assist in cost control, waste reduction, and achieving sales targets.
  • Support promotional activities and upselling initiatives.

5. Problem Solving & Decision Making:

  • Handle customer complaints efficiently and professionally.
  • Address any operational issues that arise during shifts.
  • Work closely with the management team to improve efficiency and service.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in hospitality, preferably in a pub or restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Good knowledge of food, beverages, and licensing laws.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

A successful FOH Supervisor needs strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, along with a passion for hospitality and customer service. Team work is a must and will play a main part within the role.
