We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join our rapidly expanding and award-winning B2B sales team.
This is a senior, field-based role that requires confident engagement with senior stakeholders and the ability to independently deliver commercial results. The core purpose of the role is to lead and expand Ecotricity’s sales channel in line with forecasted growth, taking full ownership of developing and managing a portfolio of key TPI partners, including Energy Consultants, Brokers, and other intermediaries, Public Sector purchasing organisations and/or Large I&C direct customers.
You will be responsible for independently driving new business, managing strategic relationships, and optimising the value of both new and existing relationships. As a senior role, you will also work autonomously across Pricing, Trading, Credit Risk and operational and customer service teams to ensure opportunities align with our trading, debt, service, and operational capabilities.
As a senior member of the B2B sales team, you will influence individual channel strategies and support the introduction of new products and services.
This role is varied, challenging and rewarding, requiring exceptional communication skills, commercial acumen, and strong personal organisation.
Core Responsibilities
· Independently deliver personal sales targets in line with the overall B2B plan.
· Lead and support on individual channel strategies
· Deliver exceptional business development through strong, strategic relationships and a deep understanding of partner needs.
· Independently prepare, negotiate and secure Gas and Power contracts from initial tender through to contract acceptance.
· Develop and deliver bespoke commercial solutions tailored to the needs of our customers and partners including complex pricing and commission structures.
· Lead the end to end delivery of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), managing negotiations, commercial modelling, and contract execution independently.
· Proactively engage with the Senior Leadership Team to drive product enhancements and development, championing bespoke customer requirements.
· Collaborate with internal teams to promote Ecotricity’s brand, values, and product suite.
· Act as the senior liaison for partners and customers, managing escalations and complex commercial discussions up to board level.
· Independently identify, engage, and establish new TPI’s, Public Sector purchasing organisations and/or large direct customers.
· Support the launch and adoption of new products and services, maximising cross-sell opportunities.
· Provide guidance to back-office teams to enable excellent aftersales support and customer care.
· Regularly attend off-site client meetings, industry conferences and networking events as a senior representative.
· Lead new business pitches, independently chairing meetings with both internal and external senior stakeholders.
· Ensure the accurate onboarding of new customers.
· Produce routine and ad-hoc reporting, including detailed account plans and KPI information for the B2B Sales Leadership team.
About You
You are a self-driven, commercially minded senior sales professional with a passion for Ecotricity’s mission for a Green Britain. You thrive on autonomy, take ownership for delivering results, and have a proven track record of independently managing strategic relationships and securing new business.
You combine excellent communication skills with innovative thinking, and you’re comfortable challenging existing approaches to create better outcomes. You collaborate effectively across departments and build strong, lasting partnerships.

· Ability to manage and develop relationships at all levels, setting and maintaining expectations.
· Proven capability in building senior-level partnerships that deliver added value.
· High level of numeracy and problem-solving ability.
· Excellent written and verbal communication.
· Ability to independently set agendas and lead client meetings.
· Strong personal organisation and time-management.
· Strategic thinker who contributes to the wider B2B sales strategy.
· Highly effective networking and relationship-building skills.

Attributes:

This allows the company to utilise our people in the best possible way at all times and helps our colleagues to make the best contribution in a changing environment.
Ecotricity is Britain's overall greenest energy company- it’s more than just green energy – the breadth and depth of our work on green issues is unmatched. When we started back in 1995, we were the first company in the world to provide a new kind of electricity - the green kind.
Our mission was, and remains, to change the way energy is made and used in Britain - by replacing fossil fuels with clean, renewable energy.
We don't just supply green energy, we use the money from our customers' bills to make it ourselves too – we have built windmills and sun parks in Britain. We call this turning 'bills into mills'.
We don't just focus on energy though- we built the Electric Highway, Britain's leading network of electric vehicle charging points; we helped Forest Green Rovers become the greenest football club in the world; and we launched Britain's greenest mobile phone service, Ecotalk, where they use the money from their customers' bills to protect and regenerate Britain's lost rainforests.
Ecotricity is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to providing equality for all.
