About the Role

Essex Medical Training is seeking an experienced and highly credible Clinical Tutor to join our associate faculty on a freelance basis to clients around London & Essex.

This role is suited to an experienced healthcare educator with a strong clinical background and proven experience delivering mandatory training and resuscitation education within healthcare settings. We are seeking individuals who are confident facilitating high-quality, evidence-based learning to NHS and healthcare staff, maintaining excellent educational standards and professional credibility.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver engaging, professional and clinically robust training programmes, ensuring all content aligns with the most up-to-date national guidance and best practice.

Essential Training Areas

Applicants must have demonstrable experience delivering:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Paediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS)
  • Immediate Life Support (ILS)

Experience delivering Clinical Moving & Handling / Patient Moving & Handling training is highly desirable.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A clinical background within healthcare
  • Demonstrable experience delivering mandatory training and/or resuscitation programmes to NHS or healthcare staff
  • Proven experience facilitating resuscitation education within clinical settings
  • A recognised Level 3 Teaching Qualification (or equivalent teaching/training qualification)
  • Strong understanding of current evidence-based practice and national guidance relevant to healthcare training
  • Ability to evidence previous experience delivering comparable programmes

Applicants must be up to date with current guidance and evidence, including (but not limited to):

  • Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK)
  • National Back Exchange (NBE)
  • Health & Safety Executive (HSE)
  • Relevant NHS and professional body guidance

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Preference will be given to candidates who are:

  • Registered Healthcare Professionals (e.g. Paramedic, Nurse, ODP, Physiotherapist, Doctor or other HCPC/NMC/GMC registered professionals)
  • Experienced in delivering Immediate Life Support (ILS) programmes
  • Holders of RCUK ALS and/or ILS qualifications
  • Experienced in delivering Clinical/Patient Moving & Handling
  • Able to demonstrate a strong background in healthcare resuscitation education

Important Applicant Criteria

This role is intended for experienced healthcare educators with genuine clinical resuscitation and healthcare training backgrounds.

Applicants should have substantial experience delivering mandatory training, life support and resuscitation programmes within healthcare environments (e.g. NHS trusts, private healthcare providers, community healthcare services, ambulance services or similar settings).

Please note: this position is not suitable for trainers whose experience is limited to non-clinical first aid instruction, leisure settings, or non-healthcare-based life support training.
