WE’RE HIRING – GELATO CHEF

Due to upscaling and increased demand, we’re looking for a Gelato Chef to join the Dolly’s Desserts team.

Dolly’s Desserts is a family-run, fast-growing business based in the heart of Barnsley Town Centre. With a strong social media presence and a nationwide reputation, we are best known for our desserts and our authentic gelato. Customers travel from all over the UK to visit us, so maintaining exceptional standards is at the core of everything we do.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gelato Chef to join our growing business and aid production in one of the most important areas of our operation.This is a hands-on, creative role producing gelato for:- Two retail stores- Wholesale customersThe position is part-time, however full-time hours will be available during the summer and our busiest trading periods.Full training will be provided for gelato production, but applicants must have strong kitchen experience, a solid understanding of food, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, mix and produce gelato to a consistently high standard

- Operate, clean and maintain gelato and ice cream machinery- Develop new flavours and contribute creatively to recipe development

- Adhere to weekly production schedules

- Complete all required paperwork and production records

- Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are met

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe production environment

Skills & Experience Required

- Minimum 2 years kitchen experience as a Chef (essential)

- Strong understanding of food, ingredients and preparation methods

- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene qualification (preferred)

- Creative flair with a passion for flavour development

- Excellent attention to detail and eye for quality control

- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
