Salary: Dependent upon experience but between £29,000-£32,000 per annum (based on 30 hours)

We're Hiring! Practice Nurse – Join Our Friendly Village Practice

Are you an enthusiastic Practice Nurse looking for a welcoming, forward-thinking practice where you can truly feel part of the team? Due to our increasing patient list size, we're expanding our nursing team and would love you to join us.

About the Role

Ratby Medical Centre is looking for a compassionate and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly clinical team on a permanent basis. You'll be supported by a close-knit, approachable team in our modern, purpose-built surgery just outside Leicester.

We're looking for someone to work 30 hours per week, ideally spread across 4–5 days to help maintain continuity of care, although we're happy to discuss flexibility for the right candidate.

As a Practice Nurse, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the ongoing development of our nursing services.

Main Duties

  • Chronic disease management (Diabetes, Asthma, COPD and Cardiovascular Disease where appropriately trained)
  • Cervical cytology
  • Childhood and adult immunisations
  • Travel vaccinations and advice
  • Wound care and dressings
  • Venepuncture and ECGs
  • NHS Health Checks
  • Health promotion and lifestyle advice
  • Infection prevention and control lead
  • Supporting QOF and enhanced services
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records using SystmOne
  • Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care
  • Some HCA duties

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Experience working as a Practice Nurse within general practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Experience managing long-term conditions.
  • Cervical smear qualification.
  • Immunisation and vaccination training.
  • Experience using SystmOne.
  • General Practice experience.
