Medical Receptionist

Full-Time
Location: Victoria Practice, Leith, Edinburgh

Victoria Practice is a small, friendly GP surgery located in the heart of Leith. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent patient care in a welcoming environment.

We are looking for a hard-working, organised, and approachable individual to join our Medical Reception team on a full-time basis.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, rotational shifts:
  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • One early shift per month: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (to support our extended hours clinic)

Salary: Dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone calls and manage patient appointment bookings
  • Provide front desk reception cover, welcoming patients and visitors
  • Handle patient inquiries both in person and over the phone
  • Support clinicians and the wider practice team as required
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
  • Assist with prescription requests and administrative tasks
  • Process incoming and outgoing correspondence efficiently
  • Manage patient registrations and deduction of patients.

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
