Student Cribs is looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative in Nottingham area.

Student Cribs is a fast-growing property investment company which acquires, refurbishes, lets and manages stylish student housing. To date the company has acquired and developed a portfolio of approximately 1000 properties in 25 University cities across the UK and has rapid growth plans.

About the job

We pride ourselves on the market leading quality of housing and high level of service we deliver. We are now recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our team to manage repairs and maintenance across our portfolio of student houses in Nottingham and the Midlands.

Key responsibilities

  • To provide high standard repairs, maintenance and decorating across a portfolio of high-quality student houses
  • Working at the forefront of the business with daily interaction with our student customers
  • Complete planned & reactive maintenance works within the property budget
  • Undertake periodic health & safety checks and property inspections.
  • Carry out statutory compliance inspections if required.
  • Ensuring the security and general appearance of the properties and gardens are maintained in accordance with the required standards
  • Managing maintenance & any third-party contractor works to a consistently high standard.
  • Energy & utility management including meter reading & broadband service management
  • Assisting with ad-hoc jobs such as delivering keys, assisting tenants that are locked out
  • Basic seasonal garden maintenance

Experience & skills

  • Experience of completing repairs and planned maintenance in student/HMO housing
  • Experience in internal and external painting.
  • Some experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and decoration desirable
  • Undertaking periodic health & safety and statutory compliance testing
  • Broadband & TV issue diagnosis and resolution
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills and enjoys problem solving
  • Able to diagnose & complete cost-effective repairs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, positive attitude & able to work under own initiative.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to use IOS on iPhone and iPad and experience with Microsoft Office 365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
  • Strong organisation and time management with a good attention to detail

Student Cribs operates a safe recruitment process. Appointment to the post will be subject to satisfactory references and DBS check.

Remuneration & Benefits

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 09.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday with ability to work flexible hours (including some weekends)

  • 1 hour lunch break

Salary: £24,000 -£25,500 (depending on experience) per annum plus discretionary bonus of up to 20% of annual salary

Location: Field-based Nottingham and the Midlands with travel to other cities across the portfolio as and when required.

Full UK driving license required (van to be provided for business use)

Company iPhone & iPad provided. Use of company vehicle for commuting (travel is paid for on company business)

25 days holiday per year + bank holidays

Multiple training courses (including PAT testing, fire warden, legionella and asbestos awareness)

Uniform and PPE is provided

Monthly food and drink allowance
