Based at Derby you will take responsibility for both reactive and planned routine maintenance across DHU’s property portfolio. What your typical day looks like:
- Maintain DHU’s premises and assets, including minor building repairs, redecoration, and plumbing.
- Conduct planned maintenance checks (fire alarms, generators, water temperatures) and carry out remedial works.
- Assist with stock control, furniture/equipment moves, and general portering.
- Perform grounds and garden maintenance, including litter picking and tool upkeep.
- Manage contractors, support team members, and adapt to organisational needs.
- Relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds) and experience in building maintenance.
- Full clean UK driving license and knowledge of health & safety responsibilities.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, use initiative, and work flexibly.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects, working at heights, and using tools/machinery.
- Willingness to adapt and meet operational requirements.
