Grow Gardens is a small but busy garden design, build and maintain company, based near Ely. We have the very highest of standards through all part of our business. From customer service and quality of work through to how we present our selves. We are looking for someone that can uphold, and exceed our very high standards.

Due to our continued growth, we have opened up the position of a Garden Maintenance Operative within our existing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working outdoors and maintaining gardens and green spaces to a high standard. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of gardening and grounds maintenance tasks for private and/or commercial clients.

Most mornings, we meet at our yard and office just outside of Ely at 7.15am. Occasionally you will be asked to go directly to an active site, which may be anywhere in and around Cambridge and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general garden maintenance, including mowing, weeding, pruning, hedge trimming, and planting
  • Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery (e.g., lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, strimmers)
  • Carry out seasonal tasks such as, but not limited to, leaf clearance, mulching, and soil preparation
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Communicate professionally with clients and team members
  • Dispose of green waste responsibly and maintain tidy work areas

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in garden or grounds maintenance
  • Knowledge of plants, pruning techniques, and basic horticulture an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good level of physical fitness and willingness to work in all weather conditions
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must be over 21 to drive company vehicles
