Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in commercial gardening maintenance, ensuring that our grounds are well-kept and aesthetically pleasing. This role involves a variety of tasks including gardening, irrigation, and the use of both hand and power tools to maintain the landscape effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
• Dig and prepare garden beds for planting, ensuring proper soil conditions for growth.
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems to ensure efficient watering of plants and lawns.
• Utilise hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruners for various gardening tasks.
• Operate power tools safely for tasks such as cutting grass, trimming hedges, and clearing debris.
• Build and maintain garden structures such as raised beds or trellises as needed.
• Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases that may require attention.
• Keep grounds clean and free from litter or debris to maintain a tidy appearance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to maintain equipment effectively.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Ability to dig, lift, and perform physical work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• A keen eye for detail with a passion for gardening and maintaining outdoor spaces.
• Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
• A valid driving licence may be required for transportation of equipment between sites.
