Overview
We are seeking a cheerful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Gardener to join our vibrant estates team . The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance. This role involves nurturing plants, maintaining gardens, and ensuring the overall aesthetic appeal of outdoor spaces. Large areas of lawns and plenty grass result in plenty of strimming and weeding. Formal gardens and hard landscaping requires ongoing maintenance ( terraces tidying, pots watering, leaves collecting etc).

Responsibilities

  • Take instruction and report to the Estates and Grounds Manager. Be able to carryout diligently individual tasks and as part of a team.
  • Maintaining gardens by performing tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, and mulching to ensure healthy plant growth.
  • Irrigate plants effectively, in accordance with weather conditions.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and pesticides efficiently for various gardening tasks.
  • Conduct regular landscape maintenance including mowing lawns, strimming hedges, and clearing debris, leaf collecting.
  • Assist in the implementation of new garden projects and or enhancements to existing landscapes.
  • Monitor plant health and identify any signs of pests or diseases, taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of gardening tools and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is required. Including recent graduates.
  • Well organised and able to establish a work rota of care and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of plant care, pruning, husbandry and plant health
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools commonly used in gardening tasks.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods. Jet washing hard landscaping, raking paths.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A genuine passion for gardening and the outdoors is essential.

Commercial garden equipment is retained and full training provided.

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
