Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance. This role involves nurturing and maintaining gardens, ensuring they flourish and remain aesthetically pleasing. The Gardener will work with various plants, flowers, and landscapes, utilising both hand tools and power tools to achieve optimal results.

Responsibilities

• Perform groundskeeping duties including planting, weeding, pruning, and mulching to maintain garden aesthetics.
• Irrigate plants effectively to ensure proper hydration and growth.
• Assist in the growing of plants by monitoring their health and providing necessary care.
• Conduct regular landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and clearing debris.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for various gardening tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to plan garden layouts and select appropriate plant species for different environments.
• Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment to ensure longevity and safety during use.

Skills

• Horticultural Qualification preferred.
• PA1 and PA6
• Strong knowledge of groundskeeping techniques and best practices in gardening.
• Proficient in irrigation methods to support plant health.
• Experience in landscape maintenance with an eye for detail in aesthetics.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A keen interest in growing plants and understanding their specific needs for optimal care.
• This is a physical role where you will be expected to work at speed to perform multiple tasks with-in a set time frame for each contract.
• Must be able to talk to customers in a professional manor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £8.60-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 45 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Wirral, Merseyside: reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (preferred)

Experience:

• Gardening: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (preferred)
• PA1 Pesticide Certificate (preferred)

Location:

• Wirral, Merseyside (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

• 25% (preferred)
