Maintenance - ( c-30 hours per week

Westfied House is a residential care home in Loughborough supporting 31 residents. We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Officer to join our Maintenance Team.

Job Description :

To ensure that the property , facilities and gardens are kept to a high standard of maintenance and safety within a agreed budget

Objectives : To provide operational and technical support on the development , maintenance and refurbishment of the society's property and facilities . To ensure compliance with H&S regulations . To seek continuous improvement in value for money for the society in all its facilities and related services .

Main job related tasks : To carry out general basic maintenance repairs , including plumbing , joinery , minor electrical repairs , painting , decorating and gardening as agreed with the GM. To maintain and keep records of individual jobs .

Requirements : To head up the maintenance team . To have general skills and working knowledge relating to practical maintenance and gardening tasks . To have a flexible approach to working hours as the role will require you to be on call for emergencies, one week in 3 . To have GCSE English language and maths or equivalent . To have good interpersonal skills, a good sense of humour and work well as part of a team . To be able to maintain accurate records . To demonstrate an empathy and understanding of the needs of older people .

Desirable requirements : Previous experience of working with a care environment or within a school or college . Relevant qualifications within a trade . Evidence of continuous training and development .

Pay: £15.47 per hour
