We are now looking for an experienced and driven Bar Manager to support the management team at this exciting time for The Ship

We are looking for someone with proven experience in a similar role.

As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for a team of Bar Tenders, providing excellent service to all of our guests. Maintaining a very high standard of service from Breakfast to Dinner. Experience of leading a team, high standard of service, cellar management and stock management are key factors in our search for the right candidate who can lead an excellent team.

Standards

• Ensure standards of service are maintained
• Ensure all staff are trained on drinks service.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the bar area. Report any maintenance issues and ensuring that they are dealt with.
• Liaise closely with the Restaurant Manager and Chef on menus and suggest accompanying drinks
• Ensure all beverages are served correctly and that all bar persons are a fully trained on the making of cocktails.

Financial

• Agree the beverage achievable GP with the General Manager. Implement and maintain the system that will ensure the delivery of the GP.
• Ensuring the bar is sufficiently staff to ensure service standard are maintained and maximise turnover
• Control wages within guidelines of bar budget.
• Complying with all food and beverage regulations

Other Duties

• Develop new bar/wine/cocktail lists, in line with menu changes.
• Acting as duty manager as required. Close and secure the building, check all cashing up sheets, ensure they are correctly filled in and reconciled, any areas not reconciled to be highlighted to the General Manager.
• Work within an environment which breeds excellence and great team work
• Support & develop new team members and provide necessary training
• Cellar management to ensure great beer quality at all times

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £32,000.00 per year
