Job descriptionPlumber/ASHP Installer/Heating Engineer required for a renewable energy installations based in Plymouth working in occupied domestic properties installing renewable heating systems.Typical works include installation of pipework, hanging radiators, installation and piping ASHP and unvented cylinders in domestic properties. Part of this work is an outdoor all-weather, undertaking all aspects of general labouring including practical work and lifting, so the candidate will need to be physically fit.Previous experience of hanging radiators, installing clips, lifting floors, notching joists, insulating pipework is essential. Experience of installing new heating systems in existing building is essential.The position would be working alongside an established team of installers, installing a new system each week, with the expectation of leading a team in due course.
Position Overview
- Work as part of a two-man installation team, under the direction of a heating engineer.
- Working in domestic occupied properties around Devon and Cornwall, but based in Plymouth.
- Work in various roles — pipe fitting, lagging, filling, heat pumps, pressurised hot water cylinders and boilers.
- Mostly working with cooper pipe from 15mm to 28mm and using press fittings.
- Based within a commutable distance of Ivybridge i.e. 20mins, and happy to travel around Devon & Cornwall.
Skills
- Valid Driving licence is essential.
- Previous plumbing and heating experience in occupied domestic properties.
- Willingness to learn or previous experience with renewable energy systems.
Desirable
- Qualification in ASHP installation
- G3 (unvented) qualification
- Water Regulations
- Gas Safe registered but not required
