Experienced GP Practice Nurse

Working across two sites in Cheadle Hulme – we are ideally looking for someone part time (24-30 hours/week)

Salary: dependent on experience but likely Band 6 + equivalent for an experienced nurse but could consider Band 7 for someone with NMP qualification and leadership experience.

Cheadle Hulme Medical Group is looking for an experienced practice nurse to join our busy practice in Cheadle Hulme.

We have 14,000 patients, 8 GP Partners, 3 salaried GPs, 2 experienced nurses (one is a prescriber), a nurse associate and 2 HCAs. We are all committed to providing great patient care and to help our patients to manage their chronic diseases and overall health in a collaborative and positive way.

We are replacing an experienced nurse who has retired so our skills gap means we really need someone already trained and accredited to do the following duties:

Essential:

• Long-term condition management: run clinics and monitor patients with asthma, diabetes, COPD, CVD etc including reviewing patients, identifying poor control and liaising with GP colleagues to optimise health and medication, providing lifestyle advice and referral to community and other clinics if needed (spirometry, weight management etc)
• Women’s and Sexual Health: perform cervical cytology screening, provide family planning advice and pill checks
• Full range of vaccinations and immunisations including children’s routine schedule, adult vaccinations including seasonal and catch up programmes
• Diagnostic Tests including venepuncture, performing ECGs, BP and urinalysis
• Travel Health advice and vaccinations (we are not a yellow fever centre)
• Ad hoc injections including administration of B12, Zoladex, Prostap (experience administering Inclisiran would be useful but not essential – in-house training can be given)
• Understanding of the clinical targets required in primary care for QOF and local enhanced services is essential – to maximise patient outcomes and practice achievement
• Good understanding of infection prevention and control processes and best practice

Desirable:

• Women’s Health: experience fitting implants and pessaries would be useful though not essential
• Prescribing experience would be useful though not essential
• We would consider applications from applicants with leadership experience who wish to continue to develop their skills in this area

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and full nurse qualification
• Primary Care nursing experience
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Good team working skills
• You must have full UK working eligibility
• Offer subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS check

Pay: £39,959.00-£51,274.11 per year
