About the role

Bristol Marketing Company is the Bristol home of an award-winning group of premium regional agencies — winner of UK Digital Marketing Agency of the Year — with sister offices in Mayfair, Reading, Surrey and Oxford. Based in Clifton Village, we work with clients across the South West and the wider group portfolio: everything from construction firms and professional services to e-commerce brands, health and wellness, and space technology — and it's growing every month.

We are hiring a Senior Paid Media Manager to take genuine ownership of paid performance across that portfolio. Let us be specific about what we need, because this role is not for a junior or mid-level marketer, and it is not a monitoring seat where you will be able to get away with doing nothing.

You will hit the ground running taking over live Google Ads and Meta Ads accounts within days of starting: high-priority accounts where we expect immediate, measurable impact and you will be accountable for their results. This is a results industry and conversions are what we expect.

What you will own

  • Full strategy, build and optimisation across 5–10 live client accounts on Google Ads and Meta Ads — both at a high level.
  • Ad copy and targeting that actually reflect each client's services and service areas. Our clients win or lose on UK local relevance: locations, service-area logic and search behaviour must be second nature to you.
  • Conversion tracking you have personally verified — GA4, Google Tag Manager, and the habit of spotting broken or false conversion data before anyone else does, because you check.
  • Budget control and decisions: performing campaigns scaled and underperforming campaigns switched off without being asked, learnings applied across every account they fit, problems raised with a solution attached.
  • Staying ahead of the constant shifts across Google, Meta, AI-driven advertising and social formats — and bringing that thinking to us, not the other way round.

You'll be supported by the group's in-house SEO, development and design teams and you'll report results directly to the Managing Director.

What we require

  • High-level Google Ads expertise and high-level Meta Ads expertise, each evidenced with quantified results: cost per lead, conversion volumes, accounts you personally grew.
  • A proven UK agency background managing multiple concurrent client accounts — essential, and it will be verified.
  • Leadership and initiative as a working habit.
  • Hard-working and competent, with meticulous attention to detail: every ad, keyword and landing page read and checked before it goes live.
  • Laziness and sloppiness are not accepted here.
  • Genuine passion for PPC, marketing and personal development.

Straight talk - no bullshit

If you work hard and want a long-term, well-paid position with real growth — in seniority and in monetary reward — this is right for you, and we promote on performance, quickly. But be under no illusion: we have dismissed people within days for poor performance and over-exaggerated skills, and we verify everything claimed. You must be a genuine expert who is passionate about this work and lives and breathes it. If that isn't you, please don't apply.

What you get

  • £35,000–£42,000 per year, dependent on proven results and reviewed against performance. Real authority over your accounts and direct access to the MD.
  • A fast growing and dynamic team working across scores of industries and international marketing.
  • High levels of personal development and growth with expertise from high performing individuals in their respective fields.

How to apply

Apply with your CV and specific, quantified results from accounts you have personally managed — applications without them will not progress. Shortlisted candidates complete screening questions including UK-market scenarios, then a paid live-account assessment (2 hours) presented back to us, then a final interview with the Managing Director. You must have the right to work in the UK.

Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Gym membership

Application question(s):

  • Do you have proven UK agency experience managing 5 or more concurrent Google Ads client accounts?
  • Are you available for a live-account assessment as part of our process?
  • A client based in Exeter serves Devon and Somerset, but explicitly not Bristol. Describe exactly how you would structure location targeting so spend never leaks outside their service area, and the checks you'd run after launch. Do not use AI to answer.
  • Give one Google Ads account and one Meta Ads account you personally managed: starting position, what you changed, and the results in numbers.
  • Describe a time an account was reporting conversions that weren't real leads. How did you spot it, and what did you change?
  • What are the largest accounts you've personally managed? Give examples with monthly ad spend, platforms, and the results you delivered. Anonymise client names if needed.
  • Describe a time you took over or managed an underperforming account that had plateaued, and brought it back. What was the position when you started, what did you change, and what were the results — in numbers?
