Full job description

Help Build the Growth Engine for an Ambitious Startup

We're looking for an exceptional Google Ads & PPC Growth Specialist to join us on a freelance basis, with the opportunity to become one of our first full-time hires as we scale.

This isn't a role for someone who simply launches campaigns and checks ROAS once a week. We're building a new platform and need someone who is obsessed with experimentation, conversion optimisation, and finding scalable acquisition channels. We want someone who is hungry to grow with us.

PPC will be at the forefront of our growth strategy, making this one of the most important roles in the business. You'll work directly with the founder, helping shape our paid acquisition strategy from the ground up.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build, manage and optimise Google Ads campaigns focused on lead generation.
  • Work directly with the founder to identify target markets, dominate them through paid acquisition, then replicate that success across new industries.
  • Develop acquisition strategies that consistently turn clicks into qualified leads.
  • Continuously improve landing page conversion rates through testing and experimentation, working closely with the founder and development team.
  • Design and execute A/B tests across ads, keywords, landing pages, offers and messaging.
  • Analyse user behaviour throughout the customer journey to identify conversion bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Document every experiment, record the results and build a repeatable growth playbook.
  • Scale campaigns based on evidence, data and testing—not assumptions.
  • Help build a world-class paid acquisition engine from scratch.

We're Looking For Someone Who...

  • Has proven experience running successful Google Ads campaigns for lead generation businesses, whether startups or established companies.
  • Understands that successful PPC doesn't stop at generating clicks—the real skill is converting traffic through exceptional landing pages, user journeys and continuous optimisation.
  • Has experience improving conversion rates through testing, analytics and experimentation.
  • Is highly analytical and comfortable making decisions using data.
  • Loves running experiments, measuring outcomes and iterating quickly.
  • Documents what works (and what doesn't) instead of relying on instinct.
  • Is commercially minded and understands customer acquisition economics.
  • Is proactive, curious and enjoys solving difficult growth challenges.
  • Can work independently while collaborating closely with a founder in a fast-moving startup.
  • Has an extreme sense of urgency. We move fast, make decisions quickly and execute relentlessly. We're looking for someone who thrives in that environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with startups or early-stage businesses.
  • Knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking.
  • Experience using user behaviour tools such as Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity.
  • Familiarity with CRM and lead management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of landing page optimisation and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO).
  • Knowledge of SEO and broader digital acquisition strategies.

Location

Ideally London-based. While this is primarily a remote freelance role, we'd like to meet in London several times each week during the early stages to collaborate, plan strategy and build the acquisition engine together.

Engagement

  • Freelance to start.
  • Opportunity to transition into a full-time Growth/Paid Acquisition role as we scale.
  • Flexible working with a strong focus on outcomes rather than hours.

As an early-stage startup, we're building our growth engine from the ground up. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with the founder, shape our paid acquisition strategy and make a genuine impact on the future of the business.

This Role Isn't for Everyone

We're not looking for someone to simply manage campaigns.

We're looking for someone who wants to build a growth engine.

Someone who is obsessed with testing, learning and improving. Someone who enjoys digging into data, finding patterns, solving problems and creating repeatable systems that scale.

If you're entrepreneurial, love taking ownership and want to help build a high-growth startup from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.

To Apply

Please include:

  • Examples of lead generation campaigns you've managed.
  • Before-and-after performance metrics where possible.
  • Examples of landing pages or funnels you've helped optimise.
  • Your approach to experimentation, testing and measuring success.
  • A link to your LinkedIn

Why you'd enjoy working directly with an early-stage founder to build something from scratch.

Experience:

  • Google Ad Manager: 4 years (required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in London
