Job Summary

Nestled beside the iconic All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon Park Sports Hub is redefining what community sport can be. Home to an iconic athletics track, a padel club, and a performance gym, we're creating a destination where elite standards meet genuine community spirit.

We are seeking an energetic and dynamic General Manager to lead our Padel & Athletics Club to new heights. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and drive the club’s strategic growth. Your leadership will inspire a passionate team dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and community engagement through world-class facilities and services. The ideal candidate is a proactive management professional, possibly ex-military / ex-athlete, with a strong background in hospitality and guest services, keen to build a vibrant environment that encourages active lifestyles and memorable experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall management of the club, including operations, staff supervision, and guest relations to ensure smooth daily functioning.
  • Help develop and implement strategic plans to grow membership, enhance service offerings, and elevate the club’s reputation within the community.
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere by ensuring high standards of guest services and cleanliness, addressing member needs promptly, and resolving any issues efficiently.
  • Oversee facility maintenance, safety protocols, and equipment management to maintain a pristine environment conducive to active pursuits.
  • Manage resource allocation to maximise operational efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
  • Train and motivate staff across departments to deliver exceptional service aligned with the club’s values.
  • Build strong relationships with schools, athletics clubs, local organisations and community partners.
  • Flexible for a mixture of early and late shifts, weekdays and weekends. This is a role that will need to be lived and breathed, and you will be compensated accordingly

Experience

  • Proven management experience within hospitality, sports clubs, or fitness facilities with a track record of successful team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of guest services principles with a passion for creating memorable customer experiences.
  • Experience in managing booking systems and customer administration tasks
  • Knowledge of sports facility operations or athletic club management is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster positive relationships with the local community, members and stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in developing strategic initiatives that drive growth and enhance member satisfaction is preferred.

Join us as we build an inspiring hub for sports enthusiasts and community members alike! Your leadership will shape an energetic environment where health & fun meets community. We're not looking for someone to run a sports venue. We're looking for someone to help define what a modern community sports venue can become!

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
