HR Consultant / Employee Relations Advisor
Guildford | Full time or part time | £47,000 to £54,000 per annum (pro rata if part time) | Hybrid

About us
We're Bespoke HR, a friendly, close-knit team who support businesses with everything from everyday HR questions to the trickiest ER cases. Our clients know they can pick up the phone whenever they need us.

The role
This is a permanent, PAYE role, with full or part-time hours available. You'll look after your own group of clients and be their go-to HR person. One minute you'll be coaching a manager through a tricky conversation, the next you'll be running an investigation, drafting a handbook or advising on a complex ER case. No two days look the same.

What you'll be doing

  • Advising clients on employee relations, performance, absence and day-to-day HR queries
  • Handling grievances, disciplinaries and investigations, and supporting clients through hearings and appeals
  • Leading client meetings, in person and online
  • Drafting contracts, policies, handbooks and tailored HR documents
  • Carrying out HR audits and giving clear, practical recommendations
  • Keeping clients up to date with employment law changes

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience handling employee relations cases independently, such as grievances, disciplinaries and investigations
  • A solid understanding of UK employment law
  • A warm, confident people person: someone who's good with customers, comfortable on the phone or face to face, and happy to build relationships quickly
  • A pragmatic, commercial mindset: you give clients sensible advice that works for their business, not just what the rulebook says
  • Good organisation, so you can keep several clients on track at once
  • CIPD Level 5 or above is helpful but not essential
  • A full UK driving licence and your own car for client visits

Consultancy experience is great, but we're happy to train the right person.
