  • Carry out routine health and safety checks (e.g., fire alarm tests, emergency lighting inspections) and record findings accurately.
  • Manage and oversee external contractors for specialized repairs or major projects, ensuring work meets standards and minimal disruption to residents.
  • Assist with room set-ups and adjustments as required, including moving furniture and handling light redecorating work.
  • Maintain records of repairs and maintenance tasks, adhering to regulatory standards and internal protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring tools are available and well-kept.
  • Respond promptly to any urgent repair needs or maintenance issues that arise, keeping downtime to a minimum.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times, creating a secure environment for both residents and staff.
  • Drive to collect any items or supplies.
  • Flexible to attend at another of our sites in the region

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role, ideally within a care home, hospitality, or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring a safe, well-maintained environment.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations, especially within residential settings.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude when interacting with residents and staff.
  • Flexibility and the ability to respond to urgent repair needs when required.
  • You MUST be able to travel between Dudley and Wocester.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Supportive working environment within a compassionate care home team
  • Opportunities for training and development
  • Full-time hours with a flexible schedule as required
