Job Title: In-House Gardener / HandymanJob Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Gardener/Handyman to maintain and enhance outdoor spaces across approximately 32 properties, ensuring they are healthy, attractive, and well-kept. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for gardening and groundskeeping, alongside practical skills with various tools and horticultural techniques.

This role involves regular garden maintenance across multiple properties, ensuring all outdoor areas remain clean, tidy, and well-maintained. The successful candidate will also be responsible for collecting and taking away rubbish and garden waste after completing work at each property, ensuring it is disposed of responsibly.

Duties

• Maintain gardens, lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees across approximately 32 properties through pruning, trimming, fertilising, and watering.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently.
• Install and repair garden features such as fences, pathways, or decorative elements.
• Assist with landscape maintenance tasks, including aeration, mulching, planting, and soil preparation.
• Conduct routine groundskeeping activities such as litter removal, leaf collection, and debris clearance.
• Collect, remove, and take away rubbish and garden waste from properties, ensuring it is disposed of responsibly.
• Ensure gardens, pathways, and outdoor areas are left clean, tidy, and presentable after each visit.
• Monitor plant health and identify pests or diseases for appropriate action.
• Perform general handyman tasks, including minor repairs around outdoor structures or fixtures.
• Plan and organise gardening visits to ensure all properties receive regular and consistent maintenance.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order and stored securely after use.
• Report any significant garden maintenance issues, damage, or hazards identified while working at the properties.

Requirements

• Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and groundskeeping equipment.
• Knowledge of plant care techniques and growing practices.
• Ability to operate various gardening machinery safely and effectively.
• Physical fitness to carry out manual labour outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail when maintaining outdoor spaces across multiple properties.
• A proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability and willingness to collect, transport, and dispose of rubbish and garden waste responsibly.
• Previous experience with groundskeeping or landscaping is advantageous but not essential.
• A valid driving licence and access to suitable transport may be required, depending on the arrangements for travelling between properties and removing rubbish.
