The post is part of our Care and Repair department, who offer key services and/or support to enable older people, those with disabilities and/or long term health conditions to remain living in their home as independently as possible in accordance with the Association's policies, good practice and relevant legislation.

This post is being offered on a fixed term basis, until 17th December 2027.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide a high-quality comprehensive Small Joiner Repairs and Minor Adaptation Service for Care and Repair clients by carrying out small joiner related repairs, maintenance and adaptations to their properties within Aberdeen City.

The postholder will be expected to

On instruction from Care and Repair staff, carry out allocated works orders in both occupied and unoccupied properties in line with Care and Repairs policies Provide advice and assistance using judgement and knowledge of Care & Repair policies and procedures and using problem solving skills.
Visit the property and undertake an assessment of work required and liaise with Care & Repair Services staff to take the most appropriate action, order/purchase materials and undertake works.
Assess clients need and qualification for Minor Adaptations Service through the agreed procedure and provide estimate for the works required.
Fit the appropriate Minor Adaptation which includes modular external handrails, step kits, internal banister, ramps under 5m, internal grab rails.
Carry out minor repairs in accordance with the clients wishes and ensure that the work is to the clients satisfaction

About you:

You will have a qualification in a trade discipline at SVQ Level 3 or equivalent particularly in Joinery and have experience of working as a qualified tradesman in occupied properties.

You will hold a current valid driving licence and a PVG Disclosure check is required for this post. Following a conditional offer of employment, this will be completed as part of pre-employment checks.

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 7 hours per day to be worked 8:30am - 4:30pm with an unpaid break of one hour

Salary: Starting salary is £32,945. This salary is a Grade 5 (£32,945 - £36,606)
